Brazil Carnaval Passion: Passport to the World Festival at the Creative Cauldron: A beautiful evening of music and dancing with performances by singers Kenia and Cissa Paz and dancers Michelle Clark, Aquiles Holladay, Gustavo Abath, and Dee Hale.

We got down at Anne Arundel Community College’s World Music & Dance Series performance by Pablo Regis & Forrobodó, which started with a forró dance lesson led by Cody Vargas and Kate Spanos.

Pablo Regis and Forrobodó: For All Brazilian Dance Party at The Clarice’s NextNOW Fest. Pablo Regis and Forrobodó brought the Brazilian heat, with dancing led by Bohasha Lima Porto and Kate Spanos.

Ava Rocha performed her new album, “Ava Patrya YndiaYracema,” named one of New York Times Best Albums of 2015.

Thanks to Monobloco for coming to Washington, DC and Baltimore! We had a great workshop hosted at the Brazilian Ambassador’s house in DC and an amazing, high-energy concert at Creative Alliance in Baltimore.

Monobloco brought amazing carnival energy to Baltimore’s Creative Alliance! The combination of percussion, singing, and dancing together was a real treat. We can’t wait for them to come back!

We held a very special workshop with Monobloco, hosted at the Brazilian Ambassador’s residence in Washington, DC.

Pablo Regis, Lucas Ashby, and Tom Rohde performed Brazilian choro at the Washington Folk Festival at Glen Echo Park this year.
