This event is free and open to the public. While primarily intended for adults, everyone is welcome. It will be held at the Old Parish House of College Park at 4711 Knox Road.

Learn and jam with Brazilian samba master percussionist André Coelho from Rio de Janeiro. André will show and demonstrate each of the essential Brazilian percussion instruments. Participants will learn basic rhythms and the event will finish with a jam session.

We will have some percussion instruments, like pandeiros, tamborins, and surdos for participants. But please bring your instrument if you have one.

This is the first of a regularly occurring Brazilian percussion meetup to create a new community ensemble, SambArte. All levels are welcome to participate.
